Well not many may know this. Most ordinary bloggers wouldn’t know this and will search for adsense ready themes, if they want to monetize their websites using adsense.
How to display adsense ads using the widgets?
If you have tried displaying text widgets by now, a bell would probably ring in your head. The text widgets accept javascript, and the adsense codes are javascript based.
Here is a step by step instructions to insert your adsense code using widgets in Wordpress.
- Login to your Wordpress Dashboard.
- Click on Appearance and proceed with Widgets
- Open the widget place where you would like your adsense code to appear (Sidebar, Footer… any area that is widgetized
- Add a text widget to the area
- For title use Google Ads, Sponsors… anything similar that won’t break the adsense tos (terms of service)
- In the text area paste your adsense code
- Hit Done, Save and you are done. After a couple of minutes you will see the ads in the widgetized area
